Dua Lipa was born on 22nd August, 1995 in London the United Kingdom. Dua Lipa signed to Warner Bros Records in 2014 after working as a model and dropped her debut album, self-titled in the year 2017. It peaked in at the third spot at the top of the U.K. charts for albums and featured eight singles with the most notable being U.K. top ten hit track New Rules and Be the One I.D.G.A.F. The album, which is now been certified Platinum in various countries across the world, won her the two Brit Awards (in 2018) for British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough artist. Dua Lipa was born London on the 22nd of August, 1995 to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is the reason she is of Bosnian origin. It is also possible to trace back her ancestors in Peja, the Kosovo town of Peja. Her grandparents were both historians and professors. Her siblings are Rina as well as Gjin. Lipa was musically influenced by her father, who was the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock band Oda. At home her father continued to perform music, including own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at the age of five. The Sylvia Young Theater School was the first place she began to sing as she was nine years old. Lipa was featured on the hit song If I'm gone You by Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa signed with Warner Bros. Records a contract in the year 2014. New Love, Lipa's debut single was released on August 2015.
